Lingaa- Even Rajni cannot save this

K. S. Ravikumar’s “Lingaa” gives us an opportunity to watch The Superstar in full glory on the big screen. Except this, the movie offers nothing. Though “Lingaa” fits the tried and tested “Rajni movie template”, the spark is missing.

Anushka looks gorgeous whereas Sonkashi disappoints. Santhanam, for the first time teams up with Rajnikanth to give us an entertaining first half. Rajni rocks as “Raja Lingeswaran”. A. R. Rahman does a fine job though it is nowhere near his best.

However, it is the climactic portion that takes away the sheen out of this. A hurried climax with tacky graphics seals “Linga’s” fate. Definitely not in the league of “Baasha” or “Padayappa”. Watch it only if you are a die-hard Rajni fan. Others, give it a miss.
